Description
I named this balm Velvet because of its amazingly soft and velvety texture. This gently scented balm blends organic oils to melt away every trace of make-up and replenish your skin. I have selected vitamin rich carrot seed and meadowfoam essential oils which contain vitamin A, C and E to nourish and give radiance. I also used neroli and lavender to calm, refresh and reset your senses. Velvet Cleansing Balm will help to restore your complexion and soothe your soul.
There maybe small brown flecks in this product, it’s propalis from the local beeswax I use in the making of Velvet Cleansing Balm and has wonderful healing properties.
The ritual
Warm a pearl size amount of balm between your hands to release the aromas, hold your hands over your face and inhale for 3 slow breaths, you will feel grounded and refreshed. Spend some time massaging the Velvet Cleansing Balm into your face and neck using upward movements and slow circular movements around the eye area. To loosen make-up or stubborn mascara use your ring finger and gently work over your eyelashes. Remove with one of my unbleached organic muslin cloths and warm water. Use in the morning and in the evening. I use mine in the shower. Ensures a deeply cleansed and glowing skin.
Ingredients
Carrot seed oil, cold pressed steam distilled and organic, this oil has a soft woody aroma and is known to have powerful anti-inflammatory properties, it is a natural emollient and will help to repair and rejuvenate your complexion. It is a mild astringent and will help to gently tighten and tone the skin. As we all know its packed with vitamin c ! It is a very grounding oil and is used in aromatherapy to ease stress and anxiety.
Meadowfoam seed oil has excellent skin softening properties and this cold pressed one has a faint lemon colour and fresh delicate aroma. It will help to lock in moisture and help prevent transdermal moisture loss. It is rich in omega 9 so will keep your skin nourished and supported. It is a natural anti-oxidant that will help prevent free radical damage.
Lavender, where do I start to discuss lavender; it has been used for centuries to heal, calm and nurture. When used on the skin it calms and soothes, it can reduce inflammation and soothe dry itchy skin. Lavender also helps to ease anxiety, aids relaxation and promotes feelings of wellbeing.
Neroli This has got to be one of my favourite oils. It is produced from the bitter orange tree and has a green and floral scent. This oil is incredibly balancing and uplifting. On the skin it has a toning and soothing effect and is an antioxidant so will protect against external assaults on the skin like pollution or the sun.
